Tantra, to me,

is about the boundless love and awe of Being in the Flesh;

of the limitless sensation that flesh and spirit are One;

in Hindu Tantric symbology, of the union of Shakti and Shiva:

Allthough words like those above sound beautiful, they are of not much use useless we experience them.

The sexual union is one way and path to this experience,

but certainly not the only one.

Tantra is one of many lineages that helps us to become aware, understand, use and cultivate sexual energy, and through this, our invisible, energy body. Thus, Tantra is an awesome science and art, infinte in its possibilities, facilitating an ever deeper connection with our Self and therefore with 'Other' and the world.

For years, I tried to avoid using the name Tantra because of its confusing character. For many people, in East and West, Tantra is a path of life long dedication; for some it involves sex and for it some means celibacy.

In the West, Tantra has become synonymous to 'spiritual sex.'

I'm using Tantra because many people recognize this word as such, as spiritual sex. However, for myself I've come to use the term

Full Spectrum Sex as the most accurate description of what I practice and convey.

Full Spectrum Sex uses an easily accessible language and practice for Westerners.

Full Spectrum Sex uses Tantric elements, but not only.

Full Spectrum Sex does not favor spiritual sex over profane sex, or vice versa, because they simply can't be separated.

Full Spectrum Sex uses sexual energy in an adaptation for the Western life style, with its fast pace, complex responsibilities and the challenge to hold both the material and spiritual worlds.

Full Spectrum Sex stands on its own, and can serve as a bridge to lineages of other cultures with their own language, practice and symbology.

Sexual Energy

The term ‘Sexual Energy’ has become known in our culture since it was shared by people of spiritual traditions who use it in meditative practices. Taoists from China call sexual energy “Ching-Chi,” meaning “sperm or ovary energy.” The Indian Hindu-tradition refers to sexual energy as “Kundalini” or “life-force.”
We are born from this life-force, and like the battery within a flashlight, our bodies are charged with “energy.”

Sexual energy exists without the “Act” of sex.

Sexual energy is stored in the lower part of our body. With practice, this life-force rises into and up our spine and activates the various energy-centers. Although we do not need the act of sex, nor genital-touch in order to generate sexual energy, the genitals are the engine, the generator of this force, and a pleasant one at that. Sexual Energy Meditation
Generating, raising and using sexual energy does not depend on the stimulation of genitals. Breathing practices or concentrated thought has the power to move energy as well. See also Sex Magic.

To expand our orgasmic capacity, we need to become familiar with how sexual energy feels and how it runs through us. Through practices we learn to be aware of this “subtle body,” or energy-body. It is a way to deepen our connection with ourselves, life and the Other.
